Podcast: President Bill Clinton speaks at the C40 Large Cities Climate Summit in New York City

May 18, 2007

President Bill Clinton speaks at a press conference during the C40 Large Cities Climate Summit, held in New York City May 14-17, 2007, where he unveils the Clinton Foundation’s Clinton Climate Initiative’s first major project—facilitating cities around the world to make energy-saving upgrades to buildings. President Clinton is joined by New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and London Mayor Ken Livingstone, two of 15 mayors who have agreed to undertake these measures in their own cities. With cities contributing approximately 75 percent of all heat-trapping carbon emissions in the world, while only accounting for 2 percent of total land mass, they are critical to any efforts to slow the pace of global climate change.
