21st Century Jobs for the Public Health Workforce

American Public Health Association

In 2011, the American Public Health Association (APHA) commited to expanding efforts to build the public health workforce within the United States, through connecting workers with 3,600 public health jobs over three years. APHA identified a three-pronged strategy to support the workforce provisions of the Affordable Care Act through its advocacy activities; identify skills gaps between employers and job seekers and connect them through our CareerMart mechanism; and offer courses and workshops on workforce development through its annual meeting activities.
