To mark the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library in Austin, Texas, will host “The Civil Rights Summit” April 8-10, 2014, which will be live-streamed and include speakers President Barack Obama, President George W. Bush, President Bill Clinton, President Jimmy Carter, and many more.

The Summit will be comprised of afternoon panel discussions followed by evening keynote addresses, and will reflect on the seminal nature of the civil rights legislation passed by President Johnson while examining civil rights issues in America and around the world today.
 
The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was the most transformational civil rights legislation since Reconstruction and a crucial step in the realization of America’s promise.
