The city houses five distinct boroughs – the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queen’s and Staten Island – each with its own distinctive landmarks. The city exerts unparalleled influence on the business world and, as home to the United Nations, is especially connected to international politics.

The city’s multiple world-class museums and galleries, countless shops, Broadway shows and renowned landmarks keep locals and tourists busy throughout the year. Vibrant bars, busy nightclubs and first-rate restaurants can be found on virtually every street corner. Events such the New York Film Festival, the Central Park SummerStage, Shakespeare in the Park and Bryant Park Summer Film Festival are famous for drawing huge crowds throughout the city.
