Opportunities for Community Service

Interns are required to complete community service over the course of the semester. Community service opportunities are geared towards group activities in order to foster social interaction between interns and with local communities. With a minimum of three hours per intern per term, interns are able to serve upwards of 1,000 hours of community service each year! Intern directors help inform interns about different opportunities and openings, although interns are welcome to pursue engagements of their own interest. Past volunteer experiences have included seasonal walks (AIDS Walk, Breast Cancer Walk, etc.), serving at the Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen, sorting medical equipment for Doc to Dock, helping with events at the local YMCA (Healthy Kids Day, Easter Egg Hunt, etc.), building for Habitat for Humanity, participating in the Foundation’s Day of Action, and many more.

Building on a lifetime of public service, President Bill Clinton established the William J. Clinton Foundation to bring people together to take on the biggest challenges of the 21st century. Additionally, Clinton Global Initiative members have made nearly 2,300 Commitments to Action to improve more than 400 million lives in more than 180 countries. Today the Foundation remains committed to addressing inequalities and delivering tangible results that improve people’s lives all over the world.
