The Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Data Management internship is one of the most unique experiences at CGI. He or she not only becomes a vital part of the Portfolio Team in the Commitments Department at CGI but also gains a thorough understanding of CGI's approximately 2,500 commitments. He or she will assist the Portfolio Team in the Commitments Department at CGI with tracking and managing the entire CGI commitment portfolio and will create and edit materials for CGI member communication. He or she will also manage a high volume of information in various databases making the Data Management internship one of the most comprehensive at CGI. This position is ideal for an individual who is inquiring, a critical thinker, can work through complex problems, and is able to identify forward-looking solutions. This individual will acquire an expert knowledge of our database software, Raiser's Edge, and will be able to work independently on complex assignments. Experience with metrics and evaluation in an international development setting are preferred but are not essential.
The Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Membership/Sponsorship department focuses on CGI membership and member recruitment across all CGI events throughout the year. Membership interns help manage communication with CGI members, including incoming membership forms and follow-up phone calls; aid in the up-keep of database accuracy; provide overall help with coordinating membership needs; and assist in the research and recruitment of potential new members before and during the CGI Annual, Winter, America and University Meetings. Interns will also perform basic administrative tasks as well as occasionally assist with office operations. Responsibilities may also include generating queries and reports related to government membership, conduct research related to Heads of State and other US and foreign government CGI members, compile weekly news clips related to elections or any other Heads of State / Government happenings relevant to CGI, and organize and categorize correspondence between CGI and foreign government CGI members. Professional demeanor and attention to detail are a must.
Development interns will primarily support the Development Team at the Clinton Foundation office on all fundraising initiatives and events, with assignments ranging from the conventional (e.g. responding to inquiries, processing checks) to the ad hoc (e.g., Head of State mailings, celebrity auction solicitations). Duties involve creating recordkeeping systems and files for existing major donors, assembling profiles, and compiling research on existing and potential funders of Clinton Foundation programs and initiatives. Interns will also participate in the evaluation of major donor engagement activities to date and the shaping of weekend gatherings for trustees and major donors. Additionally, some time is spent researching existing activities in Clinton Foundation initiatives’ fields of operation.
