Carbon Capture & Storage
Carbon Capture Storage (CCS) encompasses technologies that capture, transport and permanently store carbon dioxide to reduce greenhouse gas emissions including: capturing CO2 from coal and gas fuelled power stations, from industrial processes such as cement manufacturing and from natural gas production; compressing and/or liquefying captured CO2 and transporting for storage or sequestration; and, injecting CO2 into depleted oil and gas reservoirs, deep saline aquifers and un-mineable coal seams for permanent storage. The United States, Australia, Rotterdam, and China are working with CCI to develop and implement CCS projects.
