Launched by President Bill Clinton and Canadian mining financier Frank Giustra in 2007, the Clinton Giustra Sustainable Growth Initiative is an innovative partnership between the Clinton Foundation, the private sector, governments, local communities, and NGOs to increase the scale, scope, impact, and sustainability of social and economic development efforts in countries where the natural resource industries are an important part of the economy.
The Clinton Foundation serves as the implementing partner for CGSGI, and will begin work in Colombia and Peru to strengthen child nutrition, expand access to health care in remote areas, and support entrepreneurship. Ultimately, CGSGI aims to transform the way business is done in the developing world.
