Our Approach

The Clinton Giustra Sustainable Growth Initiative is applying the Clinton Foundation’s unique approach to enable sustainable growth, with the goal of ultimately changing the way business is done in the developing world.
CGSGI has initiated projects in Colombia and Peru to strengthen factors that enable growth such as entrepreneurship, education, nutrition and health. Four core-operating principles guide our work.
- We serve as an honest broker, emphasizing trust, cooperation, and transparency to foster new partnerships among stakeholders.
- We identify effective projects currently being implemented by governments, NGOs, and/or the private sector, and explore ways to bring them to scale or replicate and adapt successful initiatives elsewhere.
- We determine where our expertise and help are needed most — whether it is technical assistance, capacity building, or capital — and work with our partners to provide it.
- In areas where the Foundation already possesses operational expertise, such as health and business development, we will partner with local organizations on implementation.
