As President Clinton's Director of Foreign Policy, Ami Desai works on a wide range of international issues and programs, including Haiti, the Clinton Climate Initiative, and relations with foreign governments and Heads of State.
Before joining the Clinton Foundation in January 2007, Ami served as Legislative Aide to then-U.S. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, with responsibility for various foreign policy issues including Africa, humanitarian crises, and international trade. Ami also has significant professional experience in finance and in health care.
Ami holds a master’s degree in foreign policy from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in public health from Johns Hopkins University.
