Center for Women and Land

Commitment by

Landesa

In 2008, RDI committed to creating the world's first Global Center for Women's Land Rights to bring together the global community around this critical issue. The Center is creating a Fellowship Program to provide on-the-job training for gender-specific solutions to land access. RDI will create an e-Library on laws affecting women, an online forum, and will convene global events. Strengthen women's land rights by helping to reform the legal framework in targeted developing countries and make 'real' the rights that do exist for women and girls.
To date, RDI has created a strategy for the Center as part of RDI's new Five-Year Plan. Identified two of the world's leading experts on women's land rights to help lead the initiative. Began the devlopment of the e-Library and potenital partners. RDI is currently seeking funding partners to advance the work of the Center.
