The Children's Action Network will be created as an online website portal, describing the work of nonprofit groups, corporations, associations, government agencies, multilateral institutions, the media, and individuals working to make life better for children. The portal will include contact information and strategies for getting involved, including how to financially support children's organizations, empowering the involvement of many new advocates interested in making life better for children. The portal will categorize organizations by type of entity, geographic service area, and category (nutrition, education, etc). The portal will also develop an online community which can share best practices, ask for resources, and offer resources. In addition, the Children's Action Network will create partnerships with other organizations to make the portal as comprehensive as possible. This commitment will be housed under Equity International and managed by an internal team.
2010 - 500 children's advocacy organizations will be listed on the website, 100 partnerships will be created and 100 events will be listed online.
2011 - 1000 children's advocacy organizations will be listed on the website, 200 events will be listed and 200 partnerships created.
The future of our society and world is dependent upon our children, many of whom are suffering or struggling with hunger, malnutrition, disease, war, violence, lack of medical care, abuse, slavery, poor education, and limited opportunities. Thousands of organizations work on behalf of children, but there is no central clearinghouse listing them, resulting in a duplication or lack of services and a void of contacts for those wishing to donate or otherwise assist children's advocacy organizations. Equity International is an investment and philanthropic firm, with offices in Washington, DC, New York, and Florida. The 15-year-old firm identifies and promotes solutions for our most critical problems. Considered a leader in Clean Energy, Critical Resources, Homeland & Global Security, Domestic Disaster Preparedness & Reconstruction, and International Disaster Reconstruction & Development, Equity International has brought together more than 35,000 business executives, investors, government leaders, military officials, philanthropists, nonprofit leaders, and diplomats.
