Since 2001, the Clinton Foundation has worked to improve lives around the world and build upon President Clinton’s legacy of public service.
Educating and Empowering Girls from Conflict Countries
In 2011, UWC committed to providing 100 scholarships for young women from conflict and post-conflict affected countries. The scholarships will cover two years of pre-university education at any of UWC's schools and colleges worldwide. UWC will use its national committee network to identify talented, motivated, and bright young women who have been disadvantaged by the effects of conflict and prepare them for a challenging and transformational education. Through a well-established model of peace education, intensive involvement in social service projects, a bespoke mentoring program, and subsequent access to university scholarships, these 100 young women will be empowered to impact change within and on behalf of their own communities and countries.
