APPROACH AND METHODOLOGY
As President Clinton has stated, three million jobs are currently available, but America lacks an adequately trained and educated workforce to fill these jobs. Viridis Learning plans to address these problems by combining innovation, education, and technology which will prepare veterans and others with the skills and credentials they need to join and succeed in the 21st century workforce.
IMPLEMENTATION, TIMELINE, AND DELIVERABLES
Over the next 12 months, Viridis' programs will incorporate advanced collaborative models with skills training, which will engage, educate, and attract veterans through high degrees of interactivity. Through its partnership model with veteran service organizations like the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, this commitment will provide 500 veterans with 21st century skills and provide veteran service organizations with innovative ways to generate revenue. Viridis in conjunction with collaborations with VSOs will begin to identify 500 veterans during the first three months. After identifying each veteran, Viridis will provide them with access to its education platform and skills certificate options, and allow them to choose the path that is most appealing. Veterans will choose from a variety of Viridis' current course offerings. Over the next four quarters, veterans will take and complete these courses. Following completion of the program, Viridis will assist veterans with job placement through its corporate and other partners.
U.S. veterans face one of the highest unemployment rates in the United States - according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, over 13% - which is unacceptable given their sacrifices in service to our country. PTSD and other mental health-related issues, substance abuse, insufficient family or community support systems, and inadequate education and credentials are some of the major problems plaguing U.S. veterans as they try to reenter civilian society.
SEEKING: Implementing Partners
Viridis Learning is seeking collaboration with corporations interested in developing customized training programs, and implementing the training programs with potential employees. Viridis Learning is also seeking to partner with unions and other veteran service organizations interested in providing their members the opportunity to receive the customized training program, and earn a job with an entity seeking new employees.
OFFERING: Best Practice Information
A Viridis Learning partnership would add value to veteran service organizations, corporations, and other organizations without cannibalizing current initiatives.
