APPROACH AND METHODOLOGY
WIGUP will provide televised and interactive content as well as smart games through its web channel to inspire kids to discover who they are. A variety of themes will be covered, such as the following topics: environment, arts, health, spirituality, entrepreneurship, humanitarian aid, science, adventure, and sports. The key 'influencers' to convince are the teachers and the parents. If they see in it a tool that would motivate and stimulate their students and their children, most of them will want to have it. Furthermore, it should be made possible for teachers to build their activities or workshops around the WIGUP platform so they can help generate the bandwagon effect. There are more and more interactive whiteboards or Smartboards in the classroom. WIGUP is a Media Mentor for kids in that it is offered through the Internet to schools and parents on a subscription base. Teachers can use some of the audiovisual content and smart games to teach lessons. Parents can also subscribe their children to this service on an individual basis.
IMPLEMENTATION, TIMELINE, AND DELIVERABLES
WIGUP intends to implement its web channel in 10,000 schools in order to reach two million children in North America over the next three years. Out of a potential market of 80,000 schools in North America, WIGUP will focus primarily through its pledge to low-income areas, where on a scale of one to ten, ten being the poorest neighborhoods, schools ranked in areas eight to ten. By partnering with leading technological organizations, WIGUP could be offered to hundreds of thousands of children in North America on their laptops equipped with some leading creative tools. In parallel, thanks to the financial help of foundations, subscription fees could be covered. WIGUP web channel, through a donation by a corporation or foundation, could be offered to 10,000 schools and two million children in order to feed their souls.
Starting in year four and five of operation, WIGUP will target, through its Foundation, developing countries with a focus on girls. Thus, girls from South America, India and Africa could also get free access to this social network with inspiring content and receive special sponsorships in order to harness their full potential and give them opportunities to contribute fully to society. By word of mouth and a viral marketing campaign to teachers and parents, WIGUP intends to increase the subscription to this multilingual Media Mentor for Kids technological platform over time. WIGUP is already present in 500 schools in Canada. The Trillium Foundation invested $500,000 over the next two years to help develop the platform. One of the existing WIGUP partners, ACELF, is currently promoting this fresh new resource in the 3,500 francophone schools across the country. Some other partnerships with leading organizations are under way to help promote the web channel in their own respective school networks.
Dr. Stephanie Marshall wrote in The Power to Transform that, 'the purpose of schooling is to create conditions that enable children to connect with their mission so they can bring all those potentials to create the world we desire '. The traditional approach to schooling has been to prepare kids for employment opportunities, with less of a focus on stimulating children to discover their full creative potential.
Parents from all social classes are sometimes overwhelmed with guiding their children along the right career paths, while at the same time, kids often lack vision for how they can contribute creatively to society.
While I Grow Up (WIGUP), believes that each individual holds a piece of the tapestry of solving today's problems. Children between the ages of 9-14 have incredible capacities that are underestimated WIGUP's approach is to support children, through its Media Mentor for Kids, with creative television and web-based interactive content that will enable them to collectively celebrate their discoveries. By allowing kids to dream about the possibilities of their journey on this planet, and by allowing their creativity to flourish to its full capacity, this fresh new philosophy of education can transform the way we light up the burning desire in the hearts and souls of so many young people.

WIGUP is looking for NGOs, Foundations or Angel investors to help reach its goal. It is looking for $2.5M for three years, for a total of $7.5M to inspire more than two million children aged 9-14 to discover who they are..
The media mentor for kids will be available in French, English and Spanish as soon as WIGUP secures the funding.

It can create original audiovisual content within its unique platform to push children to action in certain areas such as the environment, science or arts.
