Income Generation Program for Women in Nagpur, India

In 2007, the M. Night Shyamalan Foundation committed to improve living conditions and opportunities for 150 families living in the Kasturba Nagar slum community in Nagpur, India. The Foundation aimed to partner with NGOs on the ground to implement program activities focused on poverty alleviation through economic empowerment of the 250 women living in the community. These activities included the creation of self-help groups, training in financial management and entrepreneurship, microfinance, and skills training for market-based enterprise.
