Large-Scale Introduction of the LED Lamp
In 2008, the Dutch Postcode Lottery committed to boost the adoption of LED technology in The Netherlands by giving its 2.5 million Lottery participants a Pharox LED lamp in 2009. Partners on the campaign included the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Netherlands, Albert Heijn and Lemnis Lighting. To date, 1.6 million households in the Netherlands have been given a concrete and immediate mechanism for saving energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by over 73,000 tons of CO2 per year.
