Since 2001, the Clinton Foundation has worked to improve lives around the world and build upon President Clinton’s legacy of public service.
Launching King's Academy, Jordan
In 2005, Ted Widmer committed to help create King's Academy, a progressive boarding school in Jordan, dedicated to bringing students from different socioeconomic levels and ethnicities to learn together in a tolerant, coeducation setting. The school opened with 112 9th and 10th graders in 2007, and grew to 275 9th, 10th and 11th graders in the year 2008. Next year it will have 440 students across the four high school grades, and will reach its planned maximum in 2010. Mr. Widmer has devoted particular attention to publicizing the school and recruiting faculty - a large pool of teachers came from the ranks of recent US college graduates with an interest in the Middle East.
