Life for a Child with Diabetes
In 2006, the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) committed to scale the ?Life for a Child with Diabetes? Program from 500 to 1,000 children. The Life for a Child with Diabetes Program works with leading diabetes centers in developing countries to provide funding, supplies, and technical support. In partnership with Rotary International, IDF committed to increase coordination between local partners on the ground and negotiate lower prices for insulin and glucose monitoring to improve access to diabetes care. This expansion will include increased operations within the countries the Life for a Child Program is already working as well as growth into new geographies, such as Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Mali, Togo, Benin, Cameroon, and Mauritius.
