Viridis will accomplish its CGI Commitment using its unique set of integrated services.
Viridis partners with top industry trade associations to convert trade content into engaging and interactive online coursework, leading to an industry-based credential or certificate. Viridis sources its learners through community-based organizations, workforce development groups, and veterans' services organizations: individuals that have demonstrated an active desire to better their futures. Once its' learners receive training for a specific industry and earn their credentials, Viridis works with employer subscribers to place workers into jobs that fit their competencies and skill sets.
Viridis accomplishes better employment outcomes using data-driven analytics and algorithms that match students to employers, which ensures that learners have the technical and behavioral competencies necessary to be successful. For example, Viridis's front-end profile analytics help determine whether an individual is an innate introvert or extrovert, which allows Viridis to match individuals with jobs that suit their character traits. These analytics are widely appreciated by employers, who are willing to pay a premium for qualified workers in order to reduce turnover and improve productivity.
The breakdown of implementation is as follows:
Fall 2013: Viridis will launch newest iteration of product and have 2,000 individuals enter the Viridis platform by the end of 2013.
2014: An additional 2,500 individuals will be added to the learning platform each quarter for a total of 10,000 additional individuals in the Viridis platform by the end of 2014.
Growth of the platform will accelerate in 2015
Q1 2015: 5,000 individuals will be added to the platform
Q2 2015: 8,000 individuals will be added to the platform
Q3 2015: 10,000 individuals will be added to the platform
Q4 2015: 15,000 individuals will be added to the platform totaling 38,000 for the year 2015
Individuals will complete their courses within four months of entering Viridis. The company will assess success based on course completion, job placement, and employee retention rates. By the year 2015, Viridis expects that 35,000 of the 50,000 students who take courses on the Viridis platform will be placed into a new job, which would give the company a 100% course completion and 85% placement rate. Amongst the 35,000 job hires, the goal is to have a 95% retention rate once they are employed in living wage jobs.
The middle-skills gap is a global issue. The middle-skill workforce makes up the largest share of jobs and is the backbone of every economy, including the United States. Today, over 75 million Americans are not prepared to perform middle-skill work.
Moreover, there is a heightened importance placed upon skilled workers in vital industries like construction, natural gas, manufacturing, hospitality, food and grocery service, industrial maintenance, and healthcare. However, young adults, particularly in underserved communities and amongst the veteran population, are often unable to take advantage of these evolving opportunities, since access to work-appropriate training and credentialing is, for a number of reasons, quite limited.
To tackle this challenge, Viridis commits to train and help find job placements for 50,000 individuals in the middle skills workforce. Drawing largely from underserved, urban, minority, and veteran populations, Viridis will offer training program scholarships that adequately prepare course graduates to take on well-paying, upwardly mobile jobs and work with its expanding network of corporate subscribers.
