Since 2001, the Clinton Foundation has worked to improve lives around the world and build upon President Clinton’s legacy of public service.
In 2009, the Lizzie and Jonathan Tisch Foundation committed to launching NYC Service, a blueprint in New York City (NYC) to increase civic engagement among citizens of every age in New York. This initiative was announced by Mayor Bloomberg, and builds on a past CGI Commitment of the endowment, namely the Tisch College of Citizenship and Public Service at Tufts University. NYC Service will educate and provide service opportunities for existing citizens in the five boroughs of New York City. The commitment, valued at $250,000, will introduce voluteer strategies that target community needs, use best practices, and set clear outcomes and measures to gauge progress.
