TCE Implemented in the Border Areas of DR Congo & Zambia

Commitment by

Humana People To People

In 2008, Humana People to People committed to help reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS in the Democratic Republic of Congo-Zambia border region. Through the Total Control of the Epidemic Program (TCE), the organization expected to decrease unsafe sexual behavior, improve uptake of health services, and mobilize the community to care for underserved groups. The organizations' approach involves recruiting, training, and deploying 50 local field officers per 100,000 individuals to visit households, schools, and businesses; facilitating open dialogue about the disease, and promoting safe sexual behavior.
