Uganda School Leaders’ Instructional Training Programme

Commitment by

Varkey Foundation

In 2015, the Varkey Foundation committed to expand its School Leaders’ Instructional Training Program across the Central and Northern regions of Uganda and train an additional 3,000 School Leaders from 1,500 new schools in six new districts. The program will include a five-day in-person training course for school leaders, Saturday workshops to continue learning, and satellite schools that will operate as models for teaching techniques. School leaders will be expected to train eight school teachers at their respective school after receiving the training. Additionally, the Varkey Foundation will provide training to pre-service tutors at teacher training colleges to ensure these individuals engage pre-service teachers entering the school with the methodology.
