In 2005, Basic Energy. Ltd. committed to build two wind energy power plants in the Dominican Republic totaling 109 megawatts for a total investment of over $120 million. By providing energy services while addressing the challenge of global warming, Basic Energy will reduce 500,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year.

Background

The Dominican Republic has excellent opportunities for clean energy development and investment. President Fernandez spoke about his goals to attract this type of investment and has shown true leadership in this area.
This project will promote economic development and environmental protection in the Dominican Republic through the construction of two wind energy power plants, totaling 109 megawatts for a total investment of over million.

Progress Reports

August 2013
To date, InterEnergy has successfully installed 90 MW of wind power capacity in the Dominican Republic. An additional project is under development with an installed capacity of 50 MW. Upon completion of this wind farm InterEnergy's initial commitment to install 109 MW of wind power capacity in the Dominican Republic will be successfully completed.
