More about the Clinton Foundation in Africa

The Clinton Foundation currently operates programs that empower individuals across Africa to live their best life stories. Our aim is to work with countries to reach their full potential and continue progress, by improving economic opportunity for individuals, families, and communities and by making cities and forests more sustainable. In Malawi and Tanzania, for example, the Clinton Development Initiative is providing smallholder farmers with the resources to which they previously lacked access; which has led to increased yields and higher profits. In Tanzania and Kenya, the Clinton Climate Initiative is improving forest management and reducing emissions of carbon dioxide.

In Partnership With

When In Need foundation (WIN), a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides educational grants for youths, supports orphanages, schools, homeless shelters, the disabled and elderly in need globally, currently operates programs in Africa that are specifically aimed at fostering sustainable development and employment of women and local farmers in Nigeria. Our goal is to help spark economic growth by providing access to resources that can help improve the quality of life for women, children, their families and communities.

The Mission of Mercy is the global outreach of WIN, which has journeyed to several countries supporting various women and children’s causes globally. In Nigeria, the WIN has completed medical missions to Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) and others with various medical conditions, a water project scheme serving a local community in Eastern Nigeria, and provided educational grants to support students and young professionals to continue their education and career.
