Bridge Builders: An Inspiring Conversation with Governor Terry McAuliffe

Clinton Presidential Center | Little Rock, Arkansas

Join us on Thursday, August 15, for Bridge Builders: An Inspiring Conversation with Governor Terry McAuliffe. During the program, he will discuss his new book, Beyond Charlottesville: Taking a Stand Against White Nationalism, which describes the tragic events at the "Unite the Right" rally that resulted in the deaths of three people and forced America to examine the rise of neo-Nazis and white supremacists and the roots of hatred. Beyond Charlottesville takes a deep look at those involved in the calamitous weekend. Beyond that, however, Governor McAuliffe levels a very critical eye at the history of racism in Virginia, a state he dearly loves. Most importantly, he examines what is needed to correct the racial divide and the rise of nationalism, not only in his state but across the country.

Bridge Builders is sponsored by Coulson Oil.

Terry McAuliffe served as Governor of Virginia from 2014 to 2018 and as Chair of the National Governors Association from 2016 to 2017. A former Chairman of the Democratic National Committee from 2001 to 2005, McAuliffe was also co-chairman of President Bill Clinton’s 1996 reelection campaign and chairman of Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign. His first book, What a Party! was a top five New York Times bestseller.

About Bridge Builders
President Clinton said, “In the end, all that matters is the builders. And after the builders are forgotten, all that remains are the ripples of what they’ve built.” Bridge Builders will present the stories of distinguished change makers, thought leaders, and influencers. This programming series presented by the Clinton Presidential Center and sponsored by Coulson Oil.

Each conversation will allow our compelling speakers to share their insightful perspectives; name pivotal moments that inspired them  and why; and offer first-hand accounts of the moments that shaped their lives and, in many cases, the course of history. The conclusion of each conversation will include a call to action, a charge to each person in attendance to learn more or do something that adds to the bridge that, together, we are building to the future.
