Bridge to the Future 2017

"Bridge to the Future" is a FREE community festival that encourages students to read throughout their summer break in an effort to avoid learning loss.  In partnership with HIPPY Arkansas, Too Small to Fail, and the Arkansas Campaign for Grade Level Reading, the festival brings together community organizations to provide fun, educational activities for kids, and literacy, health, and safety resources for parents.  Festivities include: reading resources; free books from Renaissance Learning and AR Kids Read; story time with Entrepreneur Kids; poetry word performances by the Foreign Tongues Poetry Troupe; a “Commitment Wall” encouraging students to commit to reading throughout the summer; fire safety demonstrations and emergency response vehicles from the Little Rock Fire Department, Arkansas State Police, and MEMS; face painting and bouncy castles; and food truck vendors.
