Vaccine for Roads: International Road Assessment Program

Commitment by

Make Roads Safe, Fia Foundation

In 2009, the FIA Foundation committed to provide $10 million to support the International Road Assessment Programme (iRAP) during the Decade of Action for Road Safety. iRAP is an innovative program that provides 'vaccines for roads', working with developing country partners to assess the safety performance of road networks, making technical recommendations to governments and providing cost/benefit analyses for fixing road infrastructure design flaws that contribute to the global road death epidemic. During the Decade of Action, iRAP will be promoted through the advocacy of the international Make Roads Safe campaign, and the campaign's Global Ambassador, movie actress Michelle Yeoh.
