GAIN's Response to Pakistan Floods

Commitment by

Global Alliance For Improved Nutrition (Gain)

In 2010, the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) announced an in-kind donation of approximately $650,000 to Pakistan's Ministry of Health and the World Food Program(WFP) to help millions of flood-affected victims in Pakistan strengthen their nutritional status by consuming fortified wheat flour. The donation took place between September 2010 and June 2011, through the GAIN Premix Facility, which enables companies involved in food fortification to access high-quality vitamin and mineral premix used to fortify foods at competitive costs.
