Commitment to Action

First Jobs, Then Futures for MENA Youth

Commitment by

The Mastercard Foundation, Education For Employment

In 2011, Education For Employment (EFE) committed to supporting over 13,000 young women and men in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) build their futures. With support from Manpower Group, The MasterCard Foundation, U.S. Department of State's Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), and other international and local partners, EFE will train youth for job readiness through business, sales, and technical trainings. EFE will link skilled youth to jobs using EFE's distinctive network of business leaders, and young entrepreneurs will have access to start-up support. Using innovative technology, such as SMS job matching and online entrepreneurship assessments, youth will match their skills to market opportunities. Youth who complete the program will be paired with mentors and opportunities for civic engagement.
