Ideas Matter Essay Contest
Postmark Deadline: November 3, 2014
Arkansas students in eleventh and twelfth grades are invited to write a 500-word (minimum) essay on the prompt: "In today's interdependent world, we have many challenges. The Clinton Foundation works to change the world by (1) improving global health, (2) increasing opportunities for women and girls, (3) reducing childhood obesity and preventable diseases, (4) creating economic opportunity and growth, and (5) helping communities address the effects of climate change. Choose and define one of these areas and propose your own idea for putting it into action."
The student with the winning essay will be award a $2,500 college scholarship. The winning essay will be selected by a panel of judges comprised of educators and representatives from the UALR Department of Education, and will be selected based on composition, style, usage, sentence formation, mechanics, and content.
The essay must be postmarked by November 3, 2014. Send entries to:
