Commitment by

Ministry of Handicrafts, Social Economy and Solidarity of the Kingdom of Morocco

In 2015, the Ministry of Handicrafts, Social Economy and Solidarity of the Kingdom of Morocco committed to establish a fair trade ecosystem; the first of its kind in Morocco. This ecosystem will be based around a fair trade labeling and a network of fair trade stakeholders including: private sector (businesses, cooperatives, and small-scale producers), government departments, civil society, and consumer organizations to share experiences, best practices, and promote fair trade. This system will initially be applied to the national market and will later expand to integrate international distribution and supply chain networks.
