Official Rules and Restrictions

NO CONTRIBUTION IS NECESSARY TO ENTER AND MAKING A CONTRIBUTION WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING THE SWEEPSTAKES.

SPONSOR. The sponsor of the sweepstakes “Win a Trip to Meet Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton at the Clinton Foundation Gala in New York City” (the “Sweepstakes”) is the Clinton Foundation (the “Foundation”), 1633 Broadway, New York, NY 10019.

SWEEPSTAKES PERIOD. The Sweepstakes will begin on April 15, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. Eastern time (“ET”) and will end on May 1, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. ET (the “Sweepstakes Period”). Entries received before or after the Sweepstakes Period will be void and ineligible for consideration. The Foundation reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to shorten or extend the Sweepstakes Period at any time.

ELIGIBILITY. The Sweepstakes is open to all legal residents of the continental United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older as of the start of the Sweepstakes Period. Employees, officers, and directors of the Foundation and any of its affiliated entities, programs, and initiatives as well as the immediate family members and household members of such employees, officers, and directors are not eligible to participate. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply; void where prohibited.

To enter without making a contribution, click here. Entries may alternatively be made by mailing a 3” x 5” postcard with your name, address, e-mail address (if you have one), and telephone number addressed to: Win a Trip to Meet Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton at the Clinton Foundation Gala in New York City, 1633 Broadway, New York, NY 10019. All entries (including those that are mailed) must be received by the Foundation by May 1, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. ET.  Regardless of the entry method used to enter the Sweepstakes, there is a limit of one entry per person. By entering the Sweepstakes, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules and Restrictions.

WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION. On or about the week of May 1, 2019, the Foundation will select a potential winner, at random, from the pool of all eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period (the “Winner”). The odds of being selected as a potential Winner will depend upon the number of eligible entries the Foundation receives during the Sweepstakes Period.

The Foundation will make up to two (2) attempts to notify the potential Winner via the phone number and/or e-mail address provided at the time of entry. Within seven (7) days of the first notification (or the second notification if the first notification is not successful), the potential Winner and one guest selected by the Winner (the “Guest”) must execute and return an affidavit or declaration of liability, a liability release, and a security clearance form for the United States Secret Service. The potential Winner and Guest may also be required to submit to additional background checks, provide the Foundation with a valid social security number or tax identification number for tax purposes, and cooperate with the Foundation in any way that the Foundation requests in order to be confirmed as the Winner and Guest. The Guest must be a legal resident of the continental United States and or the District of Columbia and 18 years of age or older as of the start of the Sweepstakes Period.

If the potential Winner and/or Guest fail to receive security clearance, pass a background check, meet the eligibility requirements, or otherwise comply with these Official Rules and Restrictions, or if awarding the Prize (as defined below) to the potential Winner and/or Guest may reflect negatively on the Foundation or President Clinton (as determined by the Foundation, in its sole discretion), the Foundation reserves the right to disqualify the potential Winner and/or Guest and select another eligible entrant at random, from the pool of remaining eligible entries, as the potential Winner. If the potential Winner cannot be contacted, or if the potential Winner and Guest do not timely complete the required documentation or provide the requested information, the potential Winner will forfeit the Prize and the Foundation will select another eligible entrant at random, from the pool of remaining eligible entries, as the potential Winner.

PRIZE. There will be one (1) prize (“Prize”) awarded to the confirmed Winner, which will consist of the following for the Winner and his/her/their Guest: (i) coach-class round trip airfare within the United States to New York City, (ii) hotel accommodations for two nights, and (iii) tickets to attend the Clinton Foundation Gala on May 9, 2019 as VIP guests. The travel arrangements and accommodations shall be determined at the sole and absolute discretion of the Foundation. The approximate retail value of this opportunity is $3,000, but the actual value will vary depending on exact travel arrangements and specific events. If, in the judgment of the Foundation, air travel is not required due to the Winner or Guest’s proximity to New York City, ground transportation fare will be substituted for roundtrip airfare at the Foundation’s sole and absolute discretion. The Prize cannot be transferred, substituted, or redeemed for cash. All federal, state and local taxes on the Prize, and any expenses, costs, and fees incurred by the Winner and/or Guest (e.g. meals, gratuities) that are not specifically included in the definition of the Prize, are the obligation of the Winner.

RESTRICTIONS AND LIMITATIONS. The Prize is subject to airline ticket and hotel availability and other conditions and restrictions. If the Winner and/or Guest cannot travel on the dates and/or times specified by the Foundation, the Winner will forfeit the Prize and the Foundation may select another eligible entrant at random, from the pool of remaining eligible entries, as the potential Winner.

The Foundation is not responsible if the Clinton Foundation Gala is postponed or cancelled for any reason, in whole or in part, or if the Winner and Guest cannot be confirmed within sufficient time to attend the Gala. The Winner and Guest may not have an opportunity to meet President Clinton, Secretary Clinton, or Chelsea Clinton. In such event, the Winner will receive the remainder of the prize with no compensation paid in lieu of the event portion of the Prize.

CONDITIONS. By entering the Sweepstakes, each entrant attests that he/she/they is/are of majority age; confirms that he/she/they has/have adhered to all laws applicable to him/her/them with respect to the entrance and participation in the Sweepstakes; and also agrees to release and hold harmless the Foundation, its directors, officers, employees, and agents from any liability for any and all claims, damages, liabilities, costs, injuries, losses, and expenses (including attorneys’ fees and costs) directly or indirectly arising out of or in connection with the entrant’s participation in the Sweepstakes.

By entering the Sweepstakes, the Winner agrees that the Foundation may publicize the Winner’s name, image, voice, and/or likeness, and a description of activities relating to the Prize. The Foundation is not obligated to compensate the Winner for any publicity.

In the event that Winner and/or Guest engage in behavior that is inappropriate, threatening or unlawful (as determined by the Foundation in its sole and absolute discretion), the Foundation reserves the right to terminate the Prize (including the trip or other applicable experience) early.

If direct discussions and mediation are not successful, the entrant agrees to resolve the claim through final and binding arbitration. The remedy for any such controversy or claim shall be limited to actual damages, and in no event shall any party be entitled to recover punitive, exemplary, consequential, or incidental damages (including attorneys’ fees other such related costs of bringing a claim), or to rescind the terms and conditions agreed to through these Official Rules and Restrictions or seek injunctive or any other equitable relief.
