We operate based upon the belief that if given the opportunity to work hard, everyone has the ability to excel and achieve their dreams.

We created and now oversee a vocational training business that bridges the gap between local businesses that have unmet demand for trained labor and the local community. Our training center is designed with the specifications of the local businesses to train underserved youth with the exact skills that the businesses require.

We work closely with high growth business sectors such as hospitality, retail, logistics, and business process outsourcing (call centers), to identify requirements and offer training programs designed according to employers’ needs. These partnerships with the business sector help to facilitate formal employment and decent incomes for our graduates. We focus on training people from the lowest socioeconomic levels, with a specific focus on youth.

Trained youth graduate from our training enterprises with the skills to obtain higher pay and employment. These youth also achieve higher purchasing power that is able to boost local economies.

The Challenge

An estimated 75 million youth in disadvantaged communities are unable to enter the formal economy due to low levels of access to vocational training, stemming from a lack of financial resources to cover the costs of formal programs, and lack of knowledge on employability programs and how to develop the skills and experience required by high growth industries.

At the same time, many sectors of the economy in developing countries remain underdeveloped due to insufficient local supply of trained labor.

Skill disparities also often exist when local education systems are insufficient in terms of scale, quality, or relevance.

The solution

Our training center prepares and places youth in quality jobs by providing them with the specific competencies and skill sets that target high growth sectors of industries that offer quality entry-level positions.

Our success relies on identifying and responding to unique labor market requirements and to tailor our training programs to the specific needs of the local industry. Engaging local employers, academic institutions, and government organizations in our program design and implementation has been tremendously valuable as they continually give feedback on our curricula, provide hands-on training opportunities and internships, and support our job placement efforts.

We have found that when training programs are intentionally designed to address critical needs of local labor markets, they are more likely to develop highly relevant training content and methodologies, which result in sustainable job placements compared to training programs that are disconnected from local market requirements.

Employers are eager to continue to participate, as we address key human resources issues that significantly impact their bottom line through reduced job vacancy rates, productivity improvements, and better employee satisfaction or retention.
