Overdose Aid Kits installed in middle and high schools in Oshkosh, WI

Overdose Aid Kits stocked with life-saving naloxone are now in every middle and high school in the Oshkosh Area School District of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The district partnered with CGI’s Overdose Response Network and Start Healing Now to install these kits, which also contain CPR breathing barriers; drug administration instructions; fentanyl testing strips; and information about treatment and recovery support. Communities in Sudan distribute aid through new ERR model

Foreign Policy Magazine profiles the impact and transformative model in Sudan of emergency response rooms (ERRs) – volunteer mutual aid groups that are working at the community level to distribute food, critical supplies and aid to civilians impacted by the conflict. The Coalition for Mutual Aid in Sudan – including CGI partners like The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Global Giving, Global Fund for Women, and The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee — made a commitment at CGI 2024 to support ERRs with $2 million in immediate funding, with $4.5 million more over the next two years. Examining the future of the $1.5 trillion impact investing market

The Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) launched on stage at the CGI 2010 Annual Meeting, to bring people together as a global champion for impact investing. The GIIN this month marked their 15th anniversary with an event at The Rockefeller Foundation, examining this movement to leverage capital to advance global solutions in the fields of sustainable agriculture, energy, healthcare, and more. Dr. Chelsea Clinton, Vice Chair of the Clinton Foundation, joined GIIN CEO Amit Bouri and cross-sector colleagues to discuss the current state of impact investing and look ahead to the next 15 years. Big Brothers Big Sisters of America at SuperBowl LIX in New Orleans on the importance of mentorship

Big Brothers Big Sisters of America launched an ad during Super Bowl LIX talking with athletes about the importance and long-term impact of mentorship. This builds on their 2024 Commitment to Action to update and expand its Big Futures workplace mentoring program to empower 30,000 youth. New survey explores impacts at the climate/health nexus

Grand Challenges Canada (GCC), in partnership with the Science for Africa Foundation (SFA Foundation), the Global Grand Challenges Network, and The Geneva Learning Foundation, announced a new global survey to understand the health impacts of climate change. This initiative will prioritize the voices of community health workers, nurses, physicians, researchers, health policymakers, and other health professionals in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) to offer local perspectives on the urgent and evolving health threats exacerbated by the climate crisis, such as heat-related illnesses, vector- and water-borne diseases, mental health challenges, and malnutrition.
