Updates from the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) community – including a special CGI convening for women’s empowerment in Sofia, Bulgaria; a new mental health corps; this year’s Earth Prize winners; Bahamas Mangrove Alliance’s mangrove restoration commitment; a special covening of CGI U alumni; and social highlights from the CGI community. 

Secretary Clinton in Bulgaria to advance CGI’s work on women’s economic advancement

Hosted in collaboration with Kiril Domuschiev and Domuschiev Impact, this special CGI convening event featured panel discussions with public and private sector leaders, including President Vjosa Osmani, Cherie Blair, and Özlem Denizmen. MeXoxo Founder and CEO Elpida Kokkota and Him for Her Founder and CEO Jocelyn Mangan also provided updates on their Commitments to Action that are tackling gender inequities. One Earth announces winners of The Earth Prize 2024 

CGI 2023 commitment-maker One Earth announced this year’s winners of the Earth Prize — the world’s largest environmental competition for teenagers. Last year One Earth and its partners committed to developing a global campaign to reverse the growing epidemic of eco-anxiety by empowering young people. Read more. 

Axios spotlights new youth mental health corps

Through a first-of-its-kind service program, hundreds of young adults will be trained to help their peers access mental health care and other support. The youth mental health corps launched at last year’s CGI meeting in New York. Read more. 

CGI U alumni gather in Little Rock to discuss social impact 

The Clinton Presidential Center gathered Clinton Global Initiative University alumni who are creating positive change in their communities, along with local leaders who are supporting the next generation of social impact entrepreneurs. Watch here. 

The latest on Bahamas Mangrove Alliance’s mangrove restoration commitment

At a special convening of the Clinton Global Initiative, the Bahamas Mangrove Alliance launched The Bahamas One Million Mangrove Commitment – a new program that will have a dramatic impact on the resilience and ecosystem of The Bahamas. Read more
