NEW YORK – In the latest episode of “Why Am I Telling You This?,” pioneering physician, anthropologist, and Partners in Health co-founder Dr. Paul Farmer joins Chelsea Clinton to talk about his life’s work to deliver quality, comprehensive health care and fight devastating diseases in some of the poorest places on Earth. Paul has found himself on the front lines to contain major public health and humanitarian crises in some of the most at-risk places in the world, helping to stop pandemics before they spread and, most importantly, caring for those affected.
Over the past decade, Partners in Health has collaborated with several Clinton Foundation initiatives to improve public health on a global scale. Partners in Health has worked with the Clinton Giustra Enterprise Partnership (CGEP) to stimulate entrepreneurship for smallholder farmers in Haiti. Throughout Africa, from Liberia to Rwanda, Partners in Health has worked with the Clinton Health Access Initiative to directly address health inequities for the communities that need it most. Through the Clinton Global Initiative, Partners in Health has built and helped operate world class clinics such as the GHESKIO Center in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and the Butaro Cancer Center in Rwanda.

About the Clinton Foundation
Building on a lifetime of public service, President Clinton established the Clinton Foundation on the simple belief that everyone deserves a chance to succeed, everyone has a responsibility to act, and we all do better when we work together. For nearly two decades, that premise has energized the work of the Foundation in overcoming complex challenges and improving the lives of people across the United States and around the world.
As an operating foundation, we work on issues directly or with strategic partners from the business, government, and nonprofit sectors to create economic opportunity, improve public health, and inspire civic engagement and service. Our programs are designed to make a real difference today while serving as proven models for tomorrow. The goal of every effort is to use available resources to get better results faster – at the lowest possible cost.
We firmly believe that when diverse groups of people bring resources together in the spirit of true cooperation, transformative ideas will emerge to drive life-changing action.
