In-Person

An Evening with Scott Curran

How can we create meaningful impact with the resources we already have?

Join us on Tuesday, September 1, at 6 p.m., for a conversation with Scott Curran, founder and CEO of Beyond Advisers and former general counsel of the Clinton Foundation. Drawing on his new book, “Better Good: A Simple System for Creating Lasting Impact,” Curran will share a practical framework for turning good intentions into action and making a difference using your unique strengths, passions, and resources.

In his new book, Curran outlines how to create a meaningful, lasting impact by guiding people and organizations seeking to contribute more effectively to the world around them. This book shows you that you are as much somebody as anybody, and you have more power than you realize to make your corner of the world better.

ATTEND: Register here to attend the program in person at the Clinton Center. The program will be available on our YouTube channel the following day.

BOOK: Curran will sign copies of his book following the program. Books will be available for purchase  from the Clinton Museum Store soon.

ASL interpretation is available during our events.

This program is presented by the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton School of Public Service at the University of Arkansas.

More about the speaker

Scott M. Curran is the author of Better Good (Simon & Schuster, 2026), explores how individuals and organizations can make a greater difference with the assets and opportunities already available to them.

For more than twenty-five years, Scott has worked at the intersection of law, philanthropy, business, community nonprofits, and public service, advising leaders and institutions on how to do good well in the real world. As founder and CEO of Beyond Advisers, he has guided major foundations, nonprofits, businesses, family offices, and cross-sector initiatives on strategy, governance, partnerships, and growth. His work has included collaborations with organizations including the Clinton Foundation, Newman’s Own Foundation, MIT Media Lab, Starbucks Foundation, CORE, and Tent Partnership for Refugees.

Before founding Beyond Advisers, Scott served as General Counsel of the Clinton Foundation, where he advised a global organization operating across more than forty countries on initiatives spanning global health, climate change, economic opportunity, disaster relief, early childhood education, and social enterprise. That experience shaped his belief that the people and organizations that create the greatest impact tend to follow a shared set of practical, repeatable patterns, regardless of sector, size, or budget. Those patterns are revealed in Better Good and can be put to use by any individual and organization that wants to do more good, and do it better, in their lives and work.

Scott also teaches Social Impact Law at Chicago-Kent College of Law, in a course recognized by Crain’s Chicago Business as one of “the coolest classes for law students,” and hosts the Better Good Podcast and the Do (More) Good (Better) newsletter.

He lives in the Chicago area with his wife Amy, their family, and their rescue dogs.
