How to connect with press at the meeting

The Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) partners with outside organizations to help members connect with media before and during the CGI 2026 Meeting.

Public Relations Support from APCO Worldwide

APCO Worldwide is an independent advisory and communication consultancy with more than 30 offices in major business, government, and media capitals around the world. APCO has made a commitment to provide media support services to CGI attendees during the CGI 2026 Meeting.

During the meeting, APCO’s media relations experts are available to provide advice on how to publicize your Commitment to Action. APCO will also help attendees identify and book interview opportunities with journalists from TV, radio, online, and print media. attendees can visit the APCO support desk on-site for additional questions. Attendees can also schedule an appointment with APCO at any on-site kiosk, or visit the APCO support desk in the Impact Lounge at any point during the CGI 2026 Meeting. If you have any questions, you can email: cgi@apcoworldwide.com.

Media Training for Commitment-Makers

Every year, CGI and APCO provide a media training event, to help commitment-makers map out ways to engage with media on-site and use the CGI Annual Meeting as a platform to amplify their work. Please see below for the resources from this year’s training. For any questions, please reach out to the CGI Communication Team at press@clintonfoundation.org.

We ask that members do not publicize their commitments before the meeting or any on-stage announcement. In some cases, members may share information with trusted journalists under embargo, if they agree not to publish it before the day of the announcement (or the first day of the meeting for commitments that aren’t announced on stage). For any opportunities, we want to be supportive of these efforts. Please contact the Communications Department (press@clintonfoundation.org) if you would like to do this; such requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

We hope that you will make every effort to publicize your Commitment to Action in the media and with your partner organizations. We ask that whenever you reference President Clinton, Secretary Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, or CGI in your press releases or public materials (including web references), you first receive approval from CGI. You can request approval by emailing press@clintonfoundation.org by Tuesday, September 15. We will turn around edits as soon as possible, but keep in mind that edits could take up to 48 hours.

Please do not release information about your commitment to the media prior to the meeting without first receiving approval from CGI.

If you refer to CGI in your public materials, please use the CGI boilerplate listed here:

About the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI)
Founded by President Bill Clinton in 2005, the Clinton Global Initiative is a community of doers representing a broad cross section of society and dedicated to the idea that we can accomplish more together than we can apart. Through CGI’s unique model, more than 10,000 organizations have launched more than 4,000 Commitments to Action — new, specific, and measurable projects and programs – that are making a difference in the lives of more than 500 million people in 180 countries.

Unfortunately, CGI cannot share its media list or distribute members’ press releases via e-mail. You may place copies of your press release in the CGI Press Working Room on the second floor of the Hilton, and work with APCO and CGI press staff to facilitate introductions or conduct media availabilities at CGI.

Bringing Communications Staff to the Meeting
Unfortunately, due to limited space, attendees’ communications staff cannot register as press. For questions about credentials, please reach out to cgi@clintonfoundation.org.

If you know journalists who are interested in applying for press credentials, please direct them to the following page for the application: clintonglobal.org/2026mediaregistration. Completing the online application form is not a guarantee of access to the meeting; CGI will notify members of the press when they are approved. For questions about press registration, please email press@clintonfoundation.org.
