Press Release: Clinton School of Public Service Announces Inaugural Class Internships


Afghanistan, Sudan, Vietnam Among the Locations.

From the Middle East, to Africa to South America and beyond, this summer members of the inaugural class of the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service will travel around the globe serving internships that put into practice the principles studied during the academic year.

At a news conference Monday at the Clinton School, Dean Skip Rutherford was joined by Founding Dean David Pryor and Associate Dean Dr. Tom Bruce in announcing the internships.

“These internships reflect the international component of the Clinton School,” Rutherford said in presiding over his first event as dean. “The students look forward to using their skills and knowledge in the field, as well as gaining valuable experience as they prepare to enter the program?s second year in the fall.”

The students, location of internships and sponsoring organizations are:

Another student, Alisa Rosales, has deferred her internship to work on a project at Notre Dame Law School. Two others, Jean-Pierre Bekolo and Gervais Kolola are on leaves of absence. Bekolo, a film maker, is working on a film in his home country of Cameroon and Kolola is working on doctoral studies in The Netherlands.
