Statement: Passing of Lloyd Cutler

Hillary and I are very saddened by the passing of our friend Lloyd Cutler, a superb lawyer, a dedicated public servant, and a fine man of great wisdom, grace and compassion.
I will always be thankful for his service during my Administration, and we should all be grateful for the many ways he worked for the betterment of our nation throughout his life, especially in the fight for civil rights.
At an age when so many are settled comfortably into retirement, Lloyd continued to answer the call to duty, serving his country with great distinction.
Hillary and I offer our prayers for Polly, his children and grandchildren and his many friends.
