Statement: Death of Jerry Bookout

We are saddened by the passing of our friend, Jerry Bookout, a wonderful man who set an example to all who aspire to public life. He was genuinely interested in others and always eager to help. His leadership in the legislature on education and other progressive issues was essential to the work I did as governor. His sunny disposition, fine mind, and good heart made him a joy to be and work with. Our state and nation would be better if we had more people in public life like Jerry.
