Press Release: New Partnership with The Princeton Review Announced

Effort Aimed at Helping Underserved Students Increase Educational Achievement

On Friday, September 26th former President Bill Clinton and John Katzman, CEO and Founder of The Princeton Review, will be in Little Rock, Arkansas to announce a new partnership aimed at helping underserved students in 10 cities across the country score higher on standardized tests.

The William J. Clinton Presidential Foundation and The Princeton Review will begin providing instructor training, after-school programs in targeted subject areas, curriculum development, program management, and online test preparation to one elementary school and/or one middle school in each the following cities: Atlanta, Cleveland, Chicago, Detroit, Little Rock, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia and Washington, DC. Each school district will be able to customize the service offered by this partnership to fit the needs of its student population.

Students at the schools will be able to receive The Princeton Review SAT/ACT online and in-class test preparation for a substantially reduced fee. In Little Rock, some students will have access to online and in-class test preparation for free.

The two organizations are also publishing a guide, Paying for College Without Going Broke. A portion of the proceeds from the book's sales going to a scholarship fund for underprivileged youth. The fund will be administered by the Clinton Foundation. The book goes on sale October 14th.

The Princeton Review is a pioneer in the world of education and has been preparing students for all levels of standardized exams for over 20 years. The company's website (www.princetonreview.com) helps over half of college-bound students research, apply to, prepare for and learn how to pay for higher education.

The Clinton Foundation, continuing a major priority of the Clinton-Gore Administration, is committed to helping students pursue higher education. The Foundation has already released two CD-ROMs aimed at helping African-American and Latino students apply to colleges and universities and for financial aid.

This partnership lets us reach kids who might otherwise not have the chance to benefit from practice and preparation.”
