Governor Larry J. Hogan, Jr., is a lifelong Marylander who loves his state. As a young man, Hogan worked on his father’s Congressional campaigns, at first stuffing envelopes and knocking on doors, and eventually helping to manage them.
In 2014, Governor Hogan announced his campaign for governor. That same year, he was elected on a message of fiscal restraint in order to grow the private sector, put people back to work, and turn the economy around. After four years of economic success and bipartisan progress, Governor Hogan was overwhelmingly re-elected to a second term in 2018.
When COVID struck the United States in 2020, Governor Hogan led the nation’s governors through the crisis as Chairman of the National Governors Association. In Maryland, the governor’s decisive and balanced leadership helped save countless lives and livelihoods.
The Hogan administration marked the beginning of a new era in Annapolis – one that is inclusive, bipartisan, efficient, and always puts the needs of Maryland families and businesses first.
He and his wife, Yumi have three daughters, Julie, Jaymi, and Kim.
The Frank & Kula Kumpuris Distinguished Lecture Series is presented by the Clinton Foundation, Clinton School of Public Service at the University of Arkansas, Clinton Presidential Library and Museum, and AT&T.
