Virtual Reality Film Inside Impact: East Africa Nominated for a 2016 Daytime Emmy® Award
Immersive 3D film takes you on a journey with President Clinton & Chelsea Clinton to visit Clinton Global Initiative projects up for Best Interactive Media: Original Program category
New York, NY – Inside Impact: East Africa, the virtual reality film that allows people anywhere to join President Clinton and Chelsea Clinton on their trip to see first-hand how lives are changed as a result of Clinton Global Initiative Commitments to Action, has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy® Award.
On Thursday, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the 43rd annual Daytime Emmy® award nominations recognizing Inside Impact: East Africa as one of five nominees in for Best Interactive Media: Original Program.
The first in a virtual reality film series by Matter Unlimited featuring stories of positive social impact from around the globe, Inside Impact: East Africa is executive produced by Rob Holzer and Matter Unlimited, produced and directed by Felix & Paul Studios, in association with m ss ng p eces.
In the film, viewers explore three CGI commitment sites with President and Chelsea Clinton to see the life changing work including a young woman entrepreneur in rural Karatu, Tanzania, who through the Solar Sister program provides her how with electrical power and increases her household income; a classroom in the Farasi Lane School in Nairobi, Kenya, where teachers utilize Discovery Learning Alliance (DLA) tools and techniques to teach students about malaria prevention; and, a child who hears for the first time when fitted with a hearing aid provided by Starkey Hearing Foundation’s commitment to fit more than one million hearing aids to people in need this decade.
The film premiered at the 2015 CGI Annual Meeting, themed “The Future of Impact” and was announced by President Clinton. “The ability of technology like this to bring people together from around the world has the potential to encourage everyone, no matter where they are, to be more engaged in global issues and how to solve them. I enjoyed being able to bring the viewer with me to see the important work CGI members are doing on the ground in Africa. I hope everyone who watches the film will feel compelled to make a positive difference in their own way,” said President Clinton, Founder, Clinton Foundation and 42nd President of the United States.
