MEDIA ADVISORY: Clinton Center Celebrates Anniversary with Free Admission Day


WHAT:

The Clinton Center celebrates 12 years since its grand opening with a free-admission day.  Guests are encouraged to explore both the permanent and the temporary exhibits, including Ladies and Gentlemen…The Beatles!  The Center offers four free-admission days annually: Presidents' Day, the Fourth of July, President Clinton's birthday, and the anniversary of the Clinton Center's grand opening. 

Visitors may download the Clinton Center’s new mobile app through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store for an enhanced tour experience. Acoustiguide Mobile App rental devices are available for $3.

Since opening its doors in 2004, the Clinton Center has welcomed more than 4 million visitors from around the world, including 315,000 education visitors who have toured the Center at no cost.  According to an independent study commissioned by the Little Rock Chamber of Commerce, the Presidential Center has helped catalyze over $3.3 Billion in economic development to downtown Little Rock and North Little Rock. More than 574,000 service hours, which total over $13.5 million of labor, have been carried out by Clinton Center volunteers.  And the Clinton Center has hosted 44 unique temporary exhibits, including the current exhibit, Ladies and Gentlemen… The Beatles!    

The Beatles! exhibit explores the impact the band’s arrival had on American pop culture, including fashion, art, advertising, media and music.  More than 400 pieces of memorabilia, including records, rare photographs, tour artifacts, videos, and instruments are on display throughout the Clinton Center.  The Beatles! also includes a sing-along booth where guests can record their own version of “Yellow Submarine” with Ringo Starr.  Additionally, Clinton Center guests can recreate the iconic “Abbey Road” album cover as they walk in front of a giant wall graphic of the famous striped street scene.  Both interactive experiences are offered at no additional charge and guests are encouraged to share their Beatles moments via social media.
