Press Release: 60th Birthday Celebration in Honor of President Clinton at the Clinton Center

Over 3 thousand people visited the Clinton Library on Saturday to help celebrate President Clinton's 60th birthday. The Clinton Presidential Library, the William J. Clinton Foundation and the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service partnered to host several special events in honor of President Clinton.

The day featured two panel discussions the first titled “The FOB's (Friends of Bill) Turn 60”. The panel was comprised of the President's childhood friends, Rose Crane, Mauria Aspell, Carolyn Staley, David Leopoulos and Joe Purvis. The second panel, titled “From Tricycles to Bicycles to Air Force One” gave an overview of the former president's gubernatorial and early political days. The panel included Patty Criner, Bob Nash, Betsey Wright and Carrol Willis and was moderated by Bobby Roberts.

Symposium attendees enjoyed McClard's Bar-B-Que and birthday cake. Mclard's was a favorite of the president during his time in growing up in Hot Springs, AR.

The Presidential Center also offered free admission to all visitors and various choirs performed musical numbers and sang happy birthday throughout the day. The Clinton Museum Store featured limited-editions t-shirts and held a tricycle ride in honor of the president. After the ride, a drawing was held to give away three tricycles.
