Press Release: William J. Clinton Foundation Publishes Names of 2010 Contributors on Foundation Website
New York, NY — The William J. Clinton Foundation today published its list of 2010 contributors, with gratitude for the contributions which continue to sustain the work of the Foundation and its charitable initiatives.
The Clinton Foundation has received contributions of all sizes, from people of all means. Over the life of the Foundation, the median gift amount has been $50. In 2010, approximately 17,500 donors made contributions to support the work of the Foundation and an additional 102,000 contributors helped support the Foundation’s work in Haiti. Since 1997, 266,000 individuals have made contributions to support and continue the important work of the Clinton Foundation with nearly 90 percent of those contributors making gifts of $250 or less.
“This year, more than 119,000 people helped to turn challenge into opportunity for countless people around our world, including those working to rebuild their lives after the earthquake in Haiti,” President Clinton said. “I am grateful to all of our supporters for making our work possible and for proving that small gifts made by a large number of people can move the world.”
All contributions to the Foundation continue to make the following accomplishments and ongoing work possible:
- Securing nearly 2,000 Commitments to Action valued in excess of $63 billion which improving the lives of 300 million people in more than 170 countries;
- Working with more than 10,000 schools and empowering more than 2.5 million young people in the United States to lead healthier lives;
- Providing $11.5 million in emergency relief supplies and long-term recovery projects in Haiti, and facilitating the delivery of $16 million worth of goods donated by other organizations;
- Enabling sustainable economic growth in Latin America through programs to strengthen child nutrition, entrepreneurship and access to health care, including facilitating more than 10,000 cataract surgeries and more than 2 million nutritious meals to schoolchildren;
- Assisting 4,000 smallholder farm families in Malawi in building sustainable small agro-forestry businesses;
- Expanding opportunity for domestic businesses by increasing access to low-cost financial services and empowering entrepreneurs through business-to-business mentoring;
- Assisting the world's largest cities to take concrete steps in reducing their greenhouse gas emissions.

The Clinton Foundation has disclosed its 2010 donors in accordance with the memorandum of understanding agreed to with the Obama Administration to ensure that not even the appearance of a conflict of interest exists between the Clinton Foundation’s work and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s service. President Clinton’s efforts are unprecedented and go above and beyond what the law requires and are intended to allow the important work of the Foundation to continue.
