Statement from President Clinton and Secretary Clinton on the passing of Ernest F. “Fritz” Hollings

Hillary and I mourn the passing and celebrate the service of Senator Fritz Hollings.  We were honored to work with him when I was President and when Hillary joined him in the Senate. He was clear and resolute in defending the Constitution, fighting for equal opportunities for all Americans, and replacing trickle-down economics with a plan that allowed everyone to share a brighter future.  He voted his convictions and left South Carolina and America stronger.
