Activate

We partner with a wide range of national organizations, associations, businesses and local agencies that are committed to helping give children the best possible start—in school and in life. We activate cross-sectoral partnerships and communities to surround families with early language and learning opportunities.

Building Business Leader Support: We’ve brought together businesses to support early language and literacy efforts, including major media companies, food manufacturers, grocery store chains, laundromat owners, children’s book publishers, and more.

Expanding Literacy Opportunities for Under-Resourced Families: We’ve distributed over 1.2 million children’s books through pediatricians, Head Start centers, child care centers, food pantries, diaper banks and laundromats nationwide as part of partnerships with Scholastic Inc., Houghton-Mifflin Harcourt, Penguin Young Readers, Highlights, the National Black Child Development Institute, the National Diaper Bank Network, the National WIC Association, World Central Kitchen, and more.

Strengthening Resources for Hospitals & Pediatricians: In partnership with the American Academy of Pediatrics, more than 63,000 pediatricians have received our “Books Build Connections” toolkit of resources to talk with parents about reading from birth. Through partnerships with major hospitals, we’ve also distributed over 80,000 tote bags filled with high-quality early literacy resources to new parents.

Collaborating with Local Communities & Providers: We build community campaigns in partnership with local organizations, providers, and funders. Our signature “Talking is Teaching” campaign is being implemented across 32 communities and 2 states, reaching tens of millions of families.
